F&O Position Size Calculator
Pick a lot count that respects your risk budget — not your hopes. Built for Indian F&O on Sensex, Nifty, BankNifty and FinNifty.
How position sizing works
The formula is Max lots = (Capital × Risk%) ÷ (Premium × Lot Size). The most common mistake Indian options traders make is sizing by "what looks affordable" instead of by their pre-defined risk per trade. Even a 1% risk rule on ₹7L capital means losing only ₹7,000 if the premium goes to zero — that's how you stay in the game long enough to compound.
Default Indian F&O lot sizes: Sensex 10, Nifty 25, BankNifty 15, FinNifty 40. SEBI updates these periodically.
